Haiku Friday: Overheard

Yeah, I'm an eavesdropper. So are you, I'll bet. How can anyone not be? People are just so... interesting!

Let's haiku about that this week: the remarkable (or mundane) things we hear other people say, whether to us or to someone else. Here, I will go first:

Two women run by
"I sold all of his clothes and..."
And what??? They are gone.

Now it is your turn! Just use the 5/7/5 syllable formula, and have some fun!

Comments:
He rides Metro North
To New York every day
posts convos Facebook

Airport parking lot
Couple argued all the way
To the terminal.

On the train, we heard
All. Something about the fridge,
What was left in it.

The ferocity
In direct proportion to
How small it all was.

I turned to the sun
Grateful for its warmth and for
My destination.

Their break up gets loud
I strain to hear, who wronged who?
Better than TV.

Context: heard outside my office door on a warm spring day.

“Yes, penicillin.”
“Do I have to tell him, mom?”
“Yeah, the rash is gone.”

Coffee shop eavesdrop:
"What kind of person would you
say you are?"
"May I?"

"Deontology."
"The square root of sixty is . . ."
"I'll give you the job."
